THE INSIDER: J.K. PARIS

J.K. Hotels are famous for their chic modern decor and high-touch personalized guest service. With outposts in Rome, Florence and Capri, we were chomping at the bit to see their most recent unveiling, this time in Paris. We asked General Manager and friend of Mapps, Riccardo Ortogni to take us inside.

ACCOMODATIONS

ROOMS: 29 including suites, all individually styled with Italian furnishings and Parisian accents.

RICCARDO’S FAVORITE: “The J.K. Signature Suite, my favourite Suite in Paris, we have only one and it is nearly 90sqm. It was designed personally by Michele Bonan with pieces of furniture from the Flea Market in Paris. The room features a stunning bathroom with a huge and sexy shower and a fireplace (not usable). Furthermore the living room and the bedroom are separated by a unique cube of bronze made by an artisan in Tuscany, that is a walk-in cabinet. I love this beautiful "apartment" for a long stay, fantastic for a couple but suitable also for families with 1 or 2 small kids as the sofa turns into a comfortable bed.”

BEHIND THE SCENES: ELISA TURNS THE BIG 40 IN PARIS

With only 4 days to explore Paris and celebrate my big 40, I hit the streets running to pack in all of its’ glory. The goal? I set out to perfect my guide to Paris, breaking down each neighborhood by highlighting the top cultural landmarks and pairing it with incredible dining experiences to make my clients' future stays seamless. I had the opportunity to test out a few new restaurants, visit the latest museum opening Atelier de Luminere and checked into one of my favorite hotels on the planet, La Reserve Paris. Here are some highlights below... Happy Birthday to me xx Elisa

Checking in...La Reserve owner Michel Reybier kept a journal for several years of everything he would want in a hotel of his own, starting with the slippers and going all the way to the flowers and hand-selected vintage books in the library. While the location put me in the heart of the Champs, the 40 room hotel felt more like the home of my chic friend with Eiffel Tower views… delivering the ultimate romantic hideaway in one of my favorite cities in the world.

ROOM TO BOOK: My personal favorites are the Imperial Suites and the Prestige Junior Suites.

MAPPS X LA RESERVE: Category upgrade at booking, daily complimentary breakfast and spa credits.

Scored a table at the latest hotspot Girafe. Eiffel Tower views and killer razor clams = perfection.

Atelier de Luminere, Paris’s first digital art center was gorgeous, presenting classic pieces to immersive music- & video. We were lucky enough to catch the Van Gogh exhibit.

PRO TIP: Book the 11am time slot, block off an hour and then head over to Le Servan or Double Dragon, just a few doors down for an epic lunch. The restaurants open their doors at noon and do not take reservations, so timing accordingly is imperative.
